Indian tourists join Baloch protest in Geneva
Geneva [Switzerland], Sept. 23 (ANI): Indian tourists in Geneva joined Baloch leaders and activists in a silent vigil to pay homage to those killed by the Pakistani military in Balochistan and against the atrocities committed on them. The vigil was attended by Baloch Republican Party chief Brahamdagh Bugti, Baloch representative at the United Nations and the European Union Mehran Marri, European Parliament Vice President Ryszard Czarnecki and author Tarek Fatah. "We are a group of 50 people, who came to tour the city, and saw people here were protesting for free Balochistan. Since our government supports their voice and opposes the human rights violation there by Pakistan, being Indians and being humans we should support them," an Indian tourist, Surinder Vats told ANI. Echoing similar sentiments, another Indian tourist said, "Even we are facing terrorism and they are facing a similar problem. We want this should end and all should live in peace. Everyone has the right to freedom and such killings should not happen. When there was Uri attack, we were hurt and we want such things should not happen to anyone." When asked about what they know about Balochistan, he said, "We know that people are being attacked and harassed in Balochistan. Whatever we have read and seen in the media, we feel that people are facing atrocities there and we want this should not happen." (ANI)
