After failing to repeal Obamacare, Trump says 'we'll let it fail'
London [U.K.], July. 19 (ANI): Following the dramatic collapse of efforts to repeal and replace Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act (ACA), U.S. President Donald Trump said it will be easier to just let Obamacare fail instead. "Let Obamacare fail and it will be a lot easier. And I think we're probably in that position where we'll let Obamacare fail. We're not going to own it. I'm not going to own it. I can tell you the Republicans are not going to own it. We'll let Obamacare fail and then the Democrats are going to come to us." Trump told reporters at the White House. One of Trump's most important campaign promises was to repeal and replace ACA, but six months into governance has not seen any development indicating so, or any major legislative achievement per se. The President was in for a surprise when senators Mike Lee of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas joined Susan Collins of Maine and Rand Paul of Kentucky in opposing the bill, which left Republican majority leader Mitch McConnell without enough votes to pass the bill. "Regretfully, it is now apparent that the effort to repeal and immediately replace the failure of Obamacare will not be successful." McConnell admitted in a statement, reports The Guardian. A livid Trump took to Twitter saying "We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans. Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!"

As I have always said, let ObamaCare fail and then come together and do a great healthcare plan. Stay tuned!
— Donald J. Stay tuned!" he added. (ANI)
