UAE to hold Eclipse Prayer on Sunday evening across country

US President Donald Trump is expected to meet leaders and foreign ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York next week to discuss the next steps in the war with Iran, Axios reported, citing three sources.

Isfahan University Assistant Professor Mohsen Farkhani stated that Iran has emerged as a major geopolitical power through BRICS membership and control of the Strait of Hormuz. Commenting on President Pezeshkian meeting the UAE Crown Prince in New Delhi, he emphasised that sanctions have failed to isolate Tehran.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, while concluding his visit to India for the 18th BRICS Summit, said Tehran and Abu Dhabi had agreed to "put the past behind" and look towards the future, as the two sides held talks on the sidelines of the summit in New Delhi.

The next phase of India-UAE relations will focus on further strengthening existing areas of cooperation while expanding into new sectors linked to advanced technology, research and the digital economy, UAE BRICS Sherpa Omran Sharaf said on Sunday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.

The United Arab Emirates' BRICS Sherpa Omran Sharaf on Sunday lauded India's role as the chair for the 18th BRICS Summit, saying New Delhi "has done a great job" in hosting and chairing the meetings and played a "very vital role" in helping the grouping reach consensus on issues that serve the BRICS agenda.
