Iran armed forces warn of "more forceful and wider" response to threats

Iran's Armed Forces warned of a stronger response to any threats ahead of the Islamic Revolution anniversary. Citing US and Israeli pressure, the military said Iran's resolve has only strengthened and urged public participation in February 11 rallies to show unity and resistance.

Tehran [Iran], February 10 (ANI): The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran has warned adversaries of a "more forceful and wider" response to any threats against the country's territory, according to Iranian state broadcaster Press TV.
In a statement issued on Tuesday on the eve of the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution's victory, the General Staff praised the Iranian nation's endurance and pledged a firm defence against external dangers.
Iran "stands powerfully and with authority against any threat, conspiracy, and overreach, confronting threats with a more forceful and broader response," the statement said.
The Armed Forces emphasised that the Islamic Republic has consistently upheld its firm position in protecting national interests and core objectives.
The declaration comes against the backdrop of a heightened US military presence in the region and Washington's threats of military action, even as indirect nuclear discussions continue through Oman's mediation.
Press TV reported that last June, Israel launched a 12-day conflict against Iran while US-Iran talks were still underway to address key disputes diplomatically. The United States later entered the fray, but Israel ultimately sought a ceasefire following Iran's robust counter-operations.
The statement noted that escalating pressure from foes, especially the United States and the Israeli regime, has only strengthened Iran's resolve and resistance.
"Now, after 47 years of the blessed Islamic Revolution, any fair- and free-minded person clearly sees that a powerful and independent Iran, despite all hostilities and pressures, has managed to conquer peaks of honor, progress, and self-reliance in scientific, defence, technological, social, and cultural arenas."
It added that the global imperial power, having forfeited its undue influence with the fall of the Pahlavi regime, has nursed hostility toward the Iranian people from the Revolution's outset.
"Through assassination, sowing insecurity, sanctions, threats, and warmongering, they tried to block the path of the Revolution," the statement said.
"But by the grace of the wise leadership of the late Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the steadfastness of the insightful Iranian nation, they reaped nothing but humiliation, disgrace, and successive defeats," it added.
The General Staff called on citizens to generate a lasting display of strength through widespread participation in the February 11 nationwide rallies, which it said would demonstrate unity and solidarity.
This large-scale public mobilisation, it asserted, will once more thwart the schemes of global arrogance, notably the United States and a beleaguered Israel, against the victorious Iranian people.
On Monday, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Iranian nation to exhibit its determination and endurance on the Revolution anniversary, noting that such cohesion would frustrate the enemy. (ANI)
