DoC announces winners of Sharjah Fine Arts Award

The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Award for Fine Arts Critical Research has announced the winners of its fifteenth session, titled "The Arab World in Artistic Orientalism: Aesthetic and Civilizational Dimensions," held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs within the Department of Culture (DOC) in Sharjah.

Sharjah [UAE], November 13 (ANI/WAM): The General Secretariat of the Sharjah Award for Fine Arts Critical Research has announced the winners of its fifteenth session, titled "The Arab World in Artistic Orientalism: Aesthetic and Civilizational Dimensions," held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs within the Department of Culture (DOC) in Sharjah.
During a meeting convened by the General Secretariat with the award's jury at the Department of Culture in Sharjah, the committee's report was reviewed in detail.
Abdullah Al Sheikh of Morocco secured first place with his research titled "The Arab World in Orientalist Art: Civilizational and Aesthetic Dimensions''.
Professor Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qasir, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture and Secretary General of the Award, said, "The Sharjah Award for Fine Arts Critical Research is proceeding with a new cycle, affirming the importance of the Ruler of Sharjah's patronage of this field of knowledge, which sheds light on Arab fine arts from all critical aspects.
He stated, "With the announcement of the award winners today, the Arab Critical Library has recognized more than 50 male and female critics following extensive participation. This session has garnered contributions from various countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and others."
He emphasised that this participation reflects the distinctive nature of the award, showcasing its artistic and creative significance within the Arab world.
Al-Qasir announced that the Sharjah Award for Fine Arts Critical Research winners will be honoured next December. (ANI/WAM)
