6.2 magnitude earthquake rattles Philippine's Mindanao

Mindanao [The Philippines], April 5 (ANI): A massive earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale has struck off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

Mindanao [The Philippines], April 5 (ANI): A massive earthquake of magnitude 6.2 on the Richter scale has struck off the southern Philippine island of Mindanao on Thursday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor reportedly struck at a depth of 38 miles, about 80 miles east of the island's major city of Davao.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage by far.

The island nation is a part of the infamous Ring of Fire region, where about 90 percent of the world's tremors happen, according to the reports.
