Vladimir Putin sworn in as Russia's President

Moscow [Russia], May 08 (ANI): Russian President Vladimir Putin was sworn-in for his fourth presidential term in a ceremony held at Kremlin here on Monday.

Moscow [Russia], May 08 (ANI): Russian President Vladimir Putin was sworn-in for his fourth presidential term in a ceremony held at Kremlin here on Monday.
Putin highlighted some key agendas of his government in the next six years including providing opportunities for everyone, as reported by Sputnik.
"Our goal is Russia for people, something that should become a country of opportunities for everyone's self-realization", Sputnik quoted Putin as saying.
He stressed that his government is dedicated to developing the areas which had been weak in the past.
Putin further pledged to provide a peaceful future to Russia as he said, "I believe that guaranteeing Russia's peaceful and prosperous future is my obligation and meaning of life."
He said all the sectors of the economy need to be developed and it could be ensured only in a democratic society.
Putin called for a breakthrough in all the spheres as he said, "I am deeply convinced that such a breakthrough can only be provided by a free society that perceives everything new and advanced, rejecting injustice, stagnation and bureaucratic deadness."
Post the inauguration ceremony, Putin was followed by the constitutional court chairman who handed the Russian president the symbols of state power and announced his assumption of office.
The ceremony was attended by former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, and United States actor Steven Seagal.
Further, ex-Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was also invited to the event.
The Russian presidential election was held in Russia on March 18 with voter turnout standing at 67.54 percent.
Putin won the elections gaining 76.69 percent of the vote, with over 56.4 million voters casting their ballots for him, according to Russia's Central Election Commission data, as quoted by Sputnik. (ANI)
