Krasheninnikov volcano erupts in Kamchatka for the first time

Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily witnessed renewed volcanic activity yesterday, marked by the emission of incandescent material and limited amounts of ash from the volcano's north-eastern crater.

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said, "We have been monitoring the volcanic situation, which has originated in Ethiopia and whatever necessary safety precautions that need to be taken, we have done it, and we have been communicating with the airline operators and airport operators... Very streamlined operations are happening right now. There's nothing to worry about."

The Aviation ministry said that the affected flights have been descended or rescheduled as a precaution.

Ash from Ethiopia's Hayli Gubbi volcano drifted into India's upper atmosphere, disrupting flights but not local weather or air quality. IMD and Gujarat officials said strong winds carried the ash, prompting DGCA advisories and multiple flight cancellations, while Air India and Akasa Air adjusted operations.

Seven international flights were cancelled and twelve delayed on Tuesday after volcanic ash affected airspace conditions, prompting airlines to adjust both arrivals and departures for safety.
