Earthquake of magnitude 3.0 strikes Tibet

The event titled "Understanding China's System of Political Repression: Voices of Resistance through Art and Journalism" brought together prominent voices critical of China's information control, as reported by Phayul.

It's an event to remember the day when Tibetan women from all three provinces of Tibet, for the first time in the history of Tibet, stood together and raised their voice against the brutal Chinese military forces that were occupying Tibet in 1959.

A curfew imposed in the Zehri area of Balochistan's Khuzdar district entered its fourth consecutive day, severely disrupting daily life, mobility and economic activity in the region. Residents said the continued restrictions have forced markets, transport services and commercial centres to remain closed, effectively paralysing normal activity.

Supporters of the Tibetan movement from across India gathered in McLeodganj on Wednesday to offer long life prayers for Tibetan spiritual leader Tenzin Gyatso. The prayer ceremony was organised by the Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India, an umbrella body that coordinates various Tibet support groups across the country.

Members of the Tibetan community under the banner of the Tibetan Youth Congress staged a peaceful protest outside the Chinese Embassy in the national capital on Tuesday, demanding freedom for Tibet and the protection of human rights for Tibetans.

As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 165km.

Tibetans living in exile and supporters of the Tibetan cause from more than 37 countries gathered in Dharamshala on Tuesday to commemorate the 67th Tibetan National Uprising Day at the main Tibetan temple, Tsuglagkhang.

The Core Group for Tibetan Cause-India concluded the Special Tibet Support Groups (TSGs) meeting in the north Indian hill town of Dharamshala on Monday afternoon. More than 120 participants representing 32 countries expressed solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle for freedom and justice. The participants also met Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama here on Monday.

During the meeting, participants highlighted the long-standing ties between Italy and Tibet, noting that cultural exchanges between the two date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. At that time, Italian Jesuit and Capuchin missionaries travelled to Lhasa, where they studied the Tibetan language and produced some of the earliest Tibetan-Italian dictionaries.

Tibetan women activists on Sunday gathered in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala to raise awareness about the critical situation of the Tibetans inside Tibet, particularly women, on the occasion of International Women's Day, highlighting the challenges faced by them living in the region.
