Turkey to buy 52 Super Mushshak aircraft from Pakistan
Karachi [Pakistan], Nov. 24 (ANI): Pakistan's Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain said Wednesday that Turkey has decided to buy 52 Super Mushshak basic trainer aircraft, costing more than $50 million, over the next three years. An agreement to this effect was signed on the sidelines of the ongoing International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2016 between the two sides. "This is the most significant agreement with Turkey in the field of defence," The Express Tribune quoted Hussain, as saying. The minister promised that the aircraft would be delivered on time. The aircraft will be delivered in three batches in 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively. The Chairman of the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that similar sales agreements were signed earlier by the country with Qatar and Nigeria for 18 more such aircraft. "The country is all set to deliver four of 10 Super Mushshaks to Qatar by November 25 (Friday)," Malik said. An agreement for upgrading the Al-Khalid main battle tanks has been also been signed by Pakistan and Ukraine. As per the agreement, engines for Al-Khalid Tanks would be provided by Ukraine in the second phase. The agreement was signed by the Pakistan's defence production minister with his Ukrainian counterpart. (ANI)

A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
