Trump's job approval rating to all-time low: Gallup poll
Washington D.C. [USA], Feb. 13 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump's job approval rating on Saturday hit a new low, according to Gallup polling, which is known for its public opinion polls conducted worldwide. According to the poll, which tracks the percentage of Americans who approve or disapprove of the job Trump is doing as president, only 40 percent of Americans approve, while 55 percent disapprove. The results are based on a three-day rolling average. The daily results are based on interviews with about 1,500 adults. The margin of error is 3 percent. Trump's approval ratings have been dropping slightly since he assumed office, according to Gallup. At the beginning of his presidency, he had a 45 percent job approval rating. He has faced massive backlash in recent weeks for controversial executive order halting the refugee program and barring citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the U.S. Even before taking oath of office, he had the lowest approval rating of any recent president in the days awaiting his inauguration, according to various polls. Gallup polling showed that just 48 per cent of Americans approve of the way Trump is handling his transition - the lowest figure in its polling history. Its figures only go back to 1992, when President-elect Bill Clinton had a 67 per cent approval rating. Some 75 percent of America's approved of the way former president Barack Obama handled his transition, while 65 percent approved of George Bush and 67 approved of Bill Clinton. Meanwhile, Trump and many of his supporters have dismissed such poll data and media reporting as 'fake' and alleged that chose to ignore his 'enthusiastic supporters'. (ANI)
