Trump, Obama, Hillary extend support to McCain
New Delhi [India], July 20 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump, former president Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have extended their support and wishes to Sen. John McCain, 80, who has been diagnosed with a primary glioblastoma, a type of brain tumour. "Melania and I send our thoughts and prayers to Senator McCain, Cindy, and their entire family," tweetd Trump. Obama calling McCain an 'American hero' said, "John McCain is an American hero & one of the bravest fighters I've ever known. Cancer doesn't know what it's up against. Give it hell, John." Meanwhile, Clinton tweeted, "John McCain is as tough as they come. Thinking of John, Cindy, their wonderful children, & their whole family tonight." Mayo Clinic doctors, directly involved in the senator's care, told CNN that the senator underwent surgery to remove a blood clot on Friday at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix. The Lab results from that surgery confirmed the presence of glioblastoma associated with the blood clot. The surgery lasted about three to four hours and post-surgical brain scans show the concerned tissue has been completely removed. McCain is now recovering at his Arizona home. He and his family are considering treatment options, which will likely include radiation and chemotherapy. According to a statement from his office, McCain is recovering "amazingly well." His doctors have assured that the senator showed no neurological problems before or after the operation. (ANI)
