Trump mocks actors, media attending 'boring' WH Correspondents Dinner
London [UK], May 1 (ANI): For the first time in over 30 years, the White House Correspondents' Dinner was held in the absence of the President, who was celebrating his first 100 days in office, according to the Independent. United States President Donald Trump participated in a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where he criticised the media who were all gathered at the Washington Hilton for the annual event. "A large group of Hollywood actors and Washington media are consoling each other in a hotel ballroom in our nation's capital right now," Trump said. "They are trapped at the dinner, which will be very very boring - they are gathered together for the White House Correspondents' Dinner without the president," the Independent quoted Trump, as saying in a Deadline Report. Along with President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence also decided to give the event a miss, thus giving the former a leeway to criticise the press. Prior to this, in 1981, former President Ronal Reagan denied an invitation to attend the dinner. (ANI)
