Trump accuses China of militarising the South China Sea
Hong Kong, Dec. 5 (ANI): U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has accused China of keeping its currency artificially low and militarising the South China Sea to the level of it being a tense territorial dispute "Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into their country (the US doesn't tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don't think so!" CNN quoted Trump as saying on Twitter. This development comes after Trump's decision to resist diplomatic protocol and accept a call from the leader of Taiwan. Trump during his campaign had spoken of China's currency and the South China Sea dispute. No U.S. President or president-elect has spoken to a Taiwanese leader since 1979. The United States had acknowledged Taiwan as part of China by accepting a set of protocols known as the "One China Policy". China immediately got in touch with President Barack Obama's administration following the conversation. (ANI)
