TDAP calls off 'Aalishan Pakistan' exhibition in India
Karachi [Pakistan], Sept. 24 (ANI): The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Friday called off its 'Aalishan Pakistan' exhibition which was scheduled to be held in India, citing tense relations with New Delhi. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in a statement said the fair aimed at showcasing Pakistani goods in India in September/October has been cancelled. "Due to current situation between Pakistan and India which is beyond TDAP's control, the event planned for 2016 has been called off," Dawn quoted the statement as saying. The statement added that the TDAP held the first edition of the event in 2012 and second in 2014. Relations between Islamabad and New Delhi have soured following Sunday's militant attack on an army base in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of eighteen soldiers. The armed militants lobbed grenades into their tents and barracks, while the soldiers were sleeping. The ensuing fire led to a large number of casualties. Twenty-eight injured soldiers are being treated at a military hospital. (ANI)
