Neduntheevu [Sri Lanka], June 22 (ANI): The Sri Lankan Navy on Wednesday arrested four Tamil Nadu fishermen for allegedly fishing in Sri Lanka's territorial waters.

Neduntheevu [Sri Lanka], June 22 (ANI): The Sri Lankan Navy on Wednesday arrested four Tamil Nadu fishermen for allegedly fishing in Sri Lanka's territorial waters. The navy also seized one boat used by the fishermen near Delft Island. Earlier on Sunday, five Indian fishermen were also arrested for allegedly fishing in Sri Lankan waters. "Naval personnel attached to a Fast Attack Craft belonging to the Northern Naval Command arrested five Indian poachers along with a fishing trawler engaged in illegal fishing practices in Sri Lankan territorial waters west of Delft Island this morning," the Sri Lankan Navy said in a statement. The arrested Indians were handed over to the Jaffna Assistant Director of Fisheries for a legal action. (ANI)
