The governor's spokesperson, Omar Zwak, was quoted as confirming that a civilian vehicle had struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants in the Bolan area of the city. All persons belonged to a single family, including four children and two women. Some reports suggest that at least 11 civilians were killed in the incident, but this figure is yet to be confirmed.
