Rangers operation in Pak Punjab not needed: Law Minister
Lahore, Aug. 23 (ANI): Highlighting that more than 1,000 combing operations have been conducted in Pakistan's Punjab province during the last six months, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said there was no further need for such operations in the region.

Lahore, Aug. 23 (ANI): Highlighting that more than 1,000 combing operations have been conducted in Pakistan's Punjab province during the last six months, Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said there was no further need for such operations in the region. "For the last two years the intelligence agencies have been conducting combing operations," the Dawn quoted Sanaullah, as saying. Referring to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan's suggestion that there had been no target killings in the region, he said there was no need for Rangers operation in Punjab. Khan had earlier called for Rangers' action in Lahore and Islamabad. He alleged that Punjab police had been reduced to "a militant wing" of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) since it was not prepared to provide any protection or move against those hurling threats at PTI workers. On being asked about the rise in kidnapping incidents of children, Sanaullah, "Some 90 per cent of children leave their houses on their own and the issue is being given undue coverage (by media)." He added that during the ongoing Punjab Assembly session the debate on the National Action Plan (NAP) and law and order in the province would be held. (ANI)
