About 64000 candidates have filed their candidacy for the election that is being commenced after the gap of about 2 decades. The second phase election will choose 15380 local representatives who will serve for the term of 5 years. Nepal held the first phase of three phased local elections on 14th May and the third one is scheduled to be held on 18th of September.
