PPP organises rally in Gilgit Baltistan against centre's 'apathy'
Gilgit [Pakistan], Nov. 2 (ANI): The Gilgit-Baltistan chapter of the Pakistan People's Party has threatened not to allow the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project through the region until constitutional status of Gilgit Baltistan is determined. This demand was made during a protest procession on 68th Independence Day of Galgit-Baltistan organised by the PPP at Danyor on Tuesday, reports the Dawn. The Party claimed that about seven to 10,000 activists of various political parties had participated in the protest. Tributes were paid by participants through a resolution in the memory of the martyrs of the war of independence in 1948. The resolution said that the gathering rejected the Northern Areas Nautor Rules, 1978, under which the ownership of GB lands was given to the federal ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. Terming the rules as a black law, it demanded its repeal to protect the ownership of land. The resolution urged of all opposition parties in the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly to table a bill seeking repeal of the rules. Compensation for the affected people of KKH, CPEC and other projects was also demanded. PPP GB president Amjad Hussain Advocate, said that for the last 68 years the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have been denied their rights. He said Gillgit-Baltistan was declared a disputed territory, when the people demanded equal rights like other parts of the country. He asked that if the region was a disputed territory why CPEC is being constructed through Gilgit-Baltistan.(ANI)

"US will never risk sending its navy to open up Strait of Hormuz”

Sibal argued that the US is unlikely to risk a naval operation to forcibly "reopen" the Strait of Hormuz as the deep-water channel necessary for large vessels lies within Iranian territorial waters. Iran does not need sophisticated long-range missiles to defend this corridor; short-range missiles, torpedoes, and mines can easily sink high-value naval assets.

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
