Poudel tells Deuba to focus on implementing Constitution
Kathmandu, July 18 (ANI): Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel has urged party president Sher Bahadur Deuba to focus on implementing the Constitution rather than engaging in a power game. Poudel conveyed the message during a meeting yesterday in Budhanilkantha. A team of leaders, including Central Committee (CC) members also requested Deuba to keep senior leaders in the loop while forging crucial deals with other parties. Poudel said it was conveyed to Deuba, by the members to follow the party's procedure and consult with senior party leaders before nominating candidates for the central committee and the party office bearers. "We basically asked him to regularly hold meetings in the party so that everyone is taken into confidence when the party takes such a decision," the Kathmandu Post quoted Poudel as saying. The Nepali Congress and the Maoists have agreed to form a new government following the CPN (Maoist Centre)'s withdrawal from the government last week. Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli-led government after being left in the minority faces a vote of no-confidence in Parliament on Thursday. Some leaders expressed concerns over how they were kept aloof from developments, after Central Committee unanimously endorsed the decision to form a government under Pushpa Kamal Dahal acknowledging the seven-point agreement. Canada-India reset gains momentum ahead of PM Visit

"Look, Canada and India share a lot of things in common. We are both federal parliamentary democracies. And in that sense, as you may well know, the Indian constitution was inspired by the Canadian federal system. So I think we have a lot of things that we can cooperate on trade, on human resources, on critical minerals, on technology. So I think it's a very positive thing that India and Canada, which are middle powers in these very uncertain times, should be working together on a whole range of things, not only bilaterally, but also multilaterally." This assessment comes from Veena Nadjibullah, Vice President of Research and Strategy at the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada. I
