Nairobi (Kenya), July 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New Delhi on Tuesday morning after completing his four-nation five-day tour to the African continent.

Nairobi (Kenya), July 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in New Delhi on Tuesday morning after completing his four-nation five-day tour to the African continent. "After a vital Africa tour which witnessed key talks, interactions & agreements, PM @narendramodi reaches Delhi," tweeted the Prime Minister's Office upon his arrival here. "My trip to Kenya was memorable. Has made economic and cultural relations between India and Kenya to be more consistent," he said prior to his departure from Nairobi. Earlier, India and Kenya exchanged several agreements on several spheres and Prime Minister also held bilateral talks with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on a wide-ranging issues, particularly in the economic sphere, aimed at boosting ties with the African continent. "India-Kenya ties have stood the test of time. Both our nations have had very strong people-to-people ties and both nations have successfully fought colonialism in the previous century," the Prime Minister had said ahead of the visit. Before arriving in Kenya on the last leg of his visit, Prime Minister Modi had visited Mozambique, South Africa and Tanzania. The Prime Minister also held active interactions with the Indian communities during his visit to South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania and Kenya. This was Prime Minister Modi's first official visit to continental Africa. He had earlier visited the island nations of Mauritius and Seychelles. This also was the first prime ministerial visit from India to the southeast African nation in 36 years since the visit of former prime minister Indira Gandhi in 1982. Ahead of his trip, the Prime Minister had said that his visit was aimed at enhancing the India-Africa ties. (ANI)
