Pak SC takes suo moto notice of 600 children abducted in Punjab province
Lahore, Aug.4 (ANI): Pakistan's Supreme Court has reportedly taken a grim view of media-related reports that claim that close to 600 children have been victims of abduction in the country's Punjab province. Acting Supreme Court Chief Justice, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, has reportedly taken suo moto notice of these media reports regarding the abduction of 600 children in Punjab, approximately 300 of them from Lahore alone, reports Samaa TV. Mr. Justice Nisar last month ordered issuance of notice to the Inspector General of Police of Punjab to present details before the apex court's Lahore Registry on July 28. "Such large scale abduction of children in a short span of time is a matter of immense concern and alarm," he was quoted, as saying. (ANI with inputs)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
