Noor to announce anti Ashraf coalition in Afghanistan soon
Kabul [Afghanistan], July 21 (ANI): A new political coalition against President Ashraf Ghani's Government in Afghanistan may soon be announced in Kabul. Ata Mohmmad Noor, the provincial governor of the northern Balkh province has talked to various leaders of Junbish-e-Millie and Wahdat-e-Islami parties. The leaders of the three parties discussed the date for the formal announcement of the new coalition and their stance regarding the current situation amid a deadlock between the political figures, comprising the government and opposition leaders. Saying that "President Ashraf Ghani's Government has failed to provide security and resolve the conflicts within the country, and justifying the move to form a new coalition, Noor said on Friday, "the political front has been established to rescue the country from the ongoing crisis. The government, specifically the chief executive has failed to ensure security and resolve the conflicts within the country." According to a statement issued by Noor's office, the meeting was hosted in the government compound by the provincial governor for the new political coalition and was attended by the leaders of Junbish-e-Millie and Wahdat-e-Islami parties, Khaama Press reported. The new political front was established around three weeks consisting key political figures, including the first vice president General Abdul Rashid Dostum, Balkh governor and Jamiat-e-Islami chief executive Ata Mohammad Noor, and deputy chief executive Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq. Moreover, first vice president general Abdul Rashid Dostum's plane was denied entry in Afghanistan and members of Wolesi Jirga (lower house of parliament) protested for not allowing Dostum's plane to fly to Kabul instead of Mazar but instead allegedly landed in Turkmenistan. Meanwhile, a number of legal experts have said that on the basis of the law, no Afghan citizen is supposed to be kept in exile and every Afghan citizen had the right to travel abroad and return to their home country. Criticizing the Ashraf Ghani government, Hezb-e-Islami leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has said that his party will extend support to any movement or coalition that is formed to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan by ending violence and conflict. "The political leaders should admit their failures and respond to the demands of the people rather than blaming each other, Hekmatyar made the remarks during a meeting with a group of the youths of the country in his residence.(ANI)
