Nepal's RPP calls for emergency meeting at Dhumbarahi office
Kathmandu [Nepal], May 22 (ANI): In the wake of its bad performance in the first phase of local body elections, Nepal's Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has called for an emergency meeting of its Central Executive Committee on Monday. The Kathmandu Post reported that RPP spokesperson, Bhuwan Pathak conceded that the meeting will deliberate on contemporary issues including the government's policies and programmes for fiscal 2017-2018 as well as effects of the Constitution Amendment, amongst other issues. The RPP had formerly sided with the Constitution Amendment but the decision ultimately created a rift in the party's office bearers. The party is also expected to examine the leadership issues it has faced recently, in the meeting. The meeting is also scheduled to devise strategies for the phase two of the elections. The party will also decide on necessary action to be taken against cadres and leaders who remained inactive during election campaign. (ANI)
