NC endorses CPN- Maoist Centre deal to support Dahal as PM candidate
Kathmandu, July 13 (ANI): Nepali Congress on Wednesday formally endorsed the seven-point agreement that its president Sher Bahadur Deuba had forged with Communist Party of Nepal- Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to form a new coalition government. Nepali Congress's Central Working Committee in its meeting at the Parliament building today endorsed the agreement and decided to lend support to Dahal as the candidate for new prime minister, reports the Himalayan Times. However, as Deuba floated the proposal to endorse the seven-point NC-Maoist agreement, some Central Working Committee members said such crucial decision was made without keeping the party in the loop. As per understanding between the two leaders, reports say that Maoist Chairman Dahal would lead the coalition government for now and Deuba would succeed him after few months.(ANI)
