Yangon [Myanmar], Apr. 8 (ANI): Twenty people have reportedly died and a dozen went missing on Friday after a boat carrying more than 60 wedding guests sank in south-western Myanmar. According to local media reports, the officials said that the boat was unlit and hit a cargo ship on the river in the city of Pathein at about 7:20 p.m. (1250 GMT) A local government official, Kyaw Myint, said that twenty bodies have been found and 27 people have been rescued, while rescuers are still looking for survivors. The authorities at the port are looking into the cause of the crash, added Myint. Marine accidents are common in Myanmar, many people rely for transport on crowded and dilapidated boats. (ANI)
