Indian envoy to Nepal lays foundation stone for two education projects in Kaski district

Kathmandu [Nepal], Sept. 24 (ANI): India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae has laid the foundation stone of two projects in Kaski district - one for the Shree Saraswati Tika Higher Secondary School at Lekhnath and the other for the Shree Gupteshwar Mahadev Multiple Campus at Pokhara - which are expected to come up at an estimated cost of 78.15 million Nepalese rupees under the Government of India grant assistance for small development projects.

Kathmandu [Nepal], Sept. 24 (ANI): India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae has laid the foundation stone of two projects in Kaski district - one for the Shree Saraswati Tika Higher Secondary School at Lekhnath and the other for the Shree Gupteshwar Mahadev Multiple Campus at Pokhara - which are expected to come up at an estimated cost of 78.15 million Nepalese rupees under the Government of India grant assistance for small development projects. The Shree Saraswati Tika Higher Secondary School is among the most reputed schools in Kaski district and provides quality education to students coming from marginalised sections of society. It has also been running classes for mentally retarded children from the pre-primary level to the higher secondary level. Indreni Nirman Sewa, Pokhara, has been awarded the contract for constructing the double-storied building that will have classrooms, labs, library and washrooms etc. The Gupteshwar Mahadev Multiple Campus is a non-profit public campus affiliated to the Tribhuvan University. Approximately 400 students (80 percent girls) have been doing bachelors courses in the field of business studies and education every year. The L-shaped three-storied building for two academic blocks of the campus is to be constructed by Muktinath/Regmi. The new construction aims to create an improved environment for learning. The India Embassy in Kathmandu said, "Six other SDP projects have already been completed in the district with a total Indian grant assistance of 218.4 million Nepalese rupees, and three other projects are under implementation in Kaski District alone. Additionally, the embassy has gifted nine ambulances and three buses to different organisations and schools in the district to improve health and education facilities for the people. Besides, the Government of India has also extended a financial assistance to the tune of 501.53 million Nepalese rupees for renovation, restoration, up-gradation of various religious, cultural and historical sites of Nepal in financial year 2015-16." The India-Nepal Economic Programme has an outlay of over 76 billion Nepalese rupees, with more than 533 large and small development projects completed or currently being implemented across Nepal in cooperation with the Government of Nepal. These development projects mainly focused in education, health and infrastructure development sectors recognising and responding to local needs to help the Government of Nepal achieving all inclusive socio-economic developments.
