Kathmandu [Nepal], May 31 (ANI): The Embassy of India in Nepal organized a Hi-Tea in honour of Anshu Jamnsenpa where the Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri met and interacted with the mountaineer and congratulated her for her world record Mount Everest climb. The interaction took place on Tuesday here. The deputy chief of mission, Vinay Kumar, two first secretaries and officials of embassy were present. Anshu was accompanied by her husband and president of All Arunachal Pradesh Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Association Tsering Wangey and close aide turned public relations manager Nanda Kirati Dewan. Ambassador Puri said mountaineering is a sport that brings both India and Nepal closer every year and vowed to extend his help to Indian mountaineers wanting to take up the challenge of mountaineering in Nepal. He added, "Achievements of young Indian mountaineers like Anshu Jamsenpa make them goodwill ambassadors of peace and mountaineering." Dewan said in a statement that "Anshu set a world record when she scaled the world's highest peak within a span of five days on May 16 and May 21. Earlier, she climbed the Everest twice in 2011 and another time in 2013. Altogether Anshu has climbed Mt. Everest five times, which is a national record for an Indian woman. She is also the first woman in the world to have made a double ascent of Mt. Everest twice." (ANI)
