In S. Korea, Baloch activists protest against genocide in Balochistan
South Korea, Dec. 12 (ANI): Baloch activists held a demonstration in South Korea to protest against the current situation of grave human rights violations in Balochistan Province of Pakistan. The protest was jointly held by members of Baloch Republican Party, Baloch National Movement, Baloch Republican Students' Organisation and Baloch Students' Organisation to mark International Human Rights Day on Saturday. The protesters raised slogans such as 'stop human rights violations', 'stop disappearances' and 'terrorist country Pakistan'. Amir Baloch president of BRP, South Korea Chapter, said "The aim of our demonstration here is to highlight the atrocities and violations in Balochistan on the occasion of Human Rights Day. Every individual has human rights irrespective of where they live and these rights should be respected." He added that Balochi people are a victim of genocide and forced disappearance, which is known to all. "Today, there is mourning in every home of Balochistan. From every home, someone is missing or their disfigured bodies have been found," he said. Baloch leaders and activists have repeatedly blamed the Pakistani government and military for mass killings and forced disappearances of Balochistan natives. As per the activists, most of the attacks in Balochistan bore sectarian mark and often is handiworks of Punjab-based terror outfits, which are thriving on funding by the Pakistani army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). They also said that atrocities on Baloch people have increased after Islamabad and Beijing signed a multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The people in Balochistan, who are championing the cause of the Free Balochistan Movement, are opposing the project, which they say will lead to exploitation of their resources. On International Human Rights Day, Baloch activists across the globe held similar protests condemning Pakistan.(ANI)
