Idols of Hindu deities vandalised in B'desh, police detains two
Dhaka [Bangladesh], Jan. 5 (ANI): At least 20 idols of deities in three Hindu temples have been damaged by miscreants in Jamaibazar area in Tungipara Upazila of Gopalganj. The Police has detained two suspects and are searching for others involved after being informed by the temple priest about the incident. "The vandalism could have taken place as a consequence of a feud over setting up some shops in the area," Dhaka Tribune quoted a police official as saying. Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman Sarkar visited the spot and promised to take stern steps against the offenders. (ANI)
