Germany to deport 12,000 Afghan refugees
Kabul [Afghanistan], Nov. 18 (ANI): Germany will reportedly repatriate more than 12,500 Afghan refugees as the officials state that the security situation in Afghanistan is safe enough for their return. A newspaper in Germany said in a report on Thursday that the issue was mentioned in a German Interior Ministry document, which is said to be the government's formal reply to a question posed by the leftist party Die Linke, reports the Khaama Press. It states that about five percent of the nearly 2,47,000 Afghans, who arrived in Germany by the end of September, will probably have to return to their homeland because the security situation there is stable enough for them to be repatriated. According to the paper, 27 rejected Afghan asylum seekers have been deported from Germany this year as compared to nine in 2015. This comes after Afghanistan and the European Union recently signed an agreement allowing the union's member states to deport an unlimited number of Afghan asylum seekers. (ANI)
