Hangzhou [China], Sept. 4 (ANI): The 11th G20 Summit began at the Chinese city of Hangzhou on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with various world leaders, including U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping, are participating in the meeting in the capital city of South Eastern Zhejiang province. "Confronting the challenges of our times. Opening ceremony of G20 gets underway with remarks by President Xi Jinping," tweeted Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup. The G20 leaders prior to the meeting also took a family photo. The theme this year is 'Towards an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected and Inclusive World Economy'. Key topics to be discussed at the two-day summit include global economic slowdown, raising protectionism, structural reforms to expand global trade and creation of jobs, innovation, inclusive growth and climate finance. Prime Minister Modi in his Facebook post earlier said that he would engage constructively on all issues and work towards finding solutions. "India will engage constructively on all the issues before us and work towards finding solutions and taking forward the agenda for a robust, inclusive and sustainable international economic order that uplifts the socio-economic conditions of people across the world, especially those who need it most in developing countries," he said. Meanwhile, a foreign policy expert has said that the G20 Summit will be an opportunity for China to promote its own development model and to push the G20 members to adopt a joint approach towards infrastructure finance, reports Xinhua.
