Dahal to attend World Future Energy Summit in UAE in January 2017

Kathmandu [Pakistan], Oct. 27 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Kamal Dahal has accepted an invitation from the United Arab Emirates to attend the World Future Energy Summit from January 16, 2017.

Kathmandu [Pakistan], Oct. 27 (ANI): Nepal Prime Minister Kamal Dahal has accepted an invitation from the United Arab Emirates to attend the World Future Energy Summit from January 16, 2017. According to a statement issued by the Nepal's PM's Secretariat, UAE Ambassador to Nepal Al Naqei handed over a formal letter of invitation to Dahal, reports the Himalyan Times. Assuring Nepal that it could take a great benefit from the summit, Ambassador Al Naqei also made it clear that the Nepal has been invited for the first time to the event. Prime Minister Dahal expressed his interest to attend the programme. Bilateral relationships and mutual interests between Nepal and the UAE were also discussed between the two. Ambassador Al Naqei was requested by Prime Minister Dahal to provide blanket amnesty to Amar Bam of Darchula district who is on death row in the UAE for the last eleven years. Bam has been languishing in the Al Abira Central Jail in Dubai as he was accused of murdering an Indian national, Sharad Shetty in 2003. Mentioning the friendly relations between the two countries since long, Ambassador Al Naqei said he would be discussing the issue once he reaches the UAE. (ANI)
