Clinton blames FBI director, WikiLeaks for her election loss
New York [United States], May 3 (ANI): Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has blamed Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director and WikiLeaks for her loss in last year's White House race. In an Interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour at a Woman for Women International event in New York, Hillary said that she was on her way to winning the election if not for a last-minute letter to Congress from FBI Director James Comey and the release of campaign emails from WikiLeaks. She also pointed to Russian interference in the presidential elections as a factor for her defeat. "If the election had been on October 27, I would be your president," CNN quoted Hillary as saying. "I take absolute personal responsibility. I was the candidate, I was the person who was on the ballot. I am very aware of the challenges, the problems, the shortfalls that we had," she added. Hillary, who is currently writing a book that partly reflects on her 2016 loss, said she was on her way to win the elections but timings of Jim Comey's letter on October 28 and Russian WikiLeaks raised doubts in the minds of people and they scared off. She said the intervening events in the last 10 days of her campaign were also the reasons for her defeat. Amanpour joked that the President would soon tweet about Hillary's comment after she noted the three million more votes she won than United States President Donald Trump. Hillary said its fine if Trump wants to tweet about her, adding that it's better than the interfering in foreign affairs. The Democrat added that she is happy to be the diversion if he wants to tweet about me as they have lot of things to worry about. She asked Trump to do things that would be important for the country.
