China moves to prevent entry of terrorists from Pak, Afghanistan into Xinjiang
Beijing [China], Jan. 11 (ANI): To prevent terrorists from entering or leaving China efforts have been stepped up on entry and exit management. Beijing has reportedly ordered authorities in its sensitive Xinjiang autonomous region to seal its border with eight countries including Pakistan, to counter terrorist infiltration. Countries bordering Xinjiang are Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Asserting that terrorist cells are particularly active in border areas in Xinjiang, a senior official of southern Xinjiang's Hotan prefecture, Azez Musar suggested that the region should improve its ability to detect suspicious activities in area and carry out strict inspections in the border areas. "We need to make sure not a single terrorist can get in or out of Xinjiang illegally, especially when our neighboring countries are facing rising terrorist threats," the China Daily quoted Aniwar Turson, a senior provincial official as saying. Turson said many terrorists after receiving training abroad come to Xinjiang to carry out attacks in the region and then return back illegally. (ANI)

MEA rejects Pakistan’s statement on India-Canada deal

"We reject this statement made by Pakistan on the matter. India's credentials regarding non-proliferation are impeccable and well recognised by the global community. A country with a well-documented history of clandestine nuclear proliferation can hardly preach the virtues of export controls and proliferation risks. Such ludicrous statements are nothing more than an attempt by Pakistan to distract from its own abysmal record," he said.
