Bruise mark on neck of British woman dead in Pak: Autopsy report

Gujrat (Pakistan), July 29 (ANI): The autopsy report of British national of Pakistani origin Samia Shahid, who was allegedly murdered for 'honour' read, states that there was a bruise mark on the neck and blood-stained froth leaking from her mouth. The doctor, who conducted the autopsy at the Jhelum DHQ Hospital, has sought forensic report of the samples collected from her body to reach a conclusion regarding the actual cause of death, reports the Dawn. The police have already sent a sample to the Lahore Forensic Science Laboratory. Dr Sana, who wrote the six-page post-mortem report, said there was no mark of torture on the body except for the bruise measuring 19×0.5cm. The post-mortem report said that Shahid's eyes and mouth were found open. 28-year-old Shahid allegedly murdered for 'honour' near Mangla on July 20. However, Shahid's father had told the police that she died of heart attack. Shahid's former husband Chaudhary Shakil, who was nominated as a suspect in the FIR, has been given an interim bail from the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court till August 6. Two other suspects in the case, Shahid's father Chaudhary Shahid and cousin Mobin, joined the investigation on Wednesday and recorded their statements before senior police officials. Complainant Mukhtar Kazim, the second husband of Shahid, alleged in the FIR that his wife had informed him over phone after arriving in Dina Town that she had handed over her passport and other documents to her friend Ambreen. Reports, however, suggest that Ambreen has denied having any documents of her deceased friend.(ANI)
