Bangladesh PM expresses condolences at deaths in Kanpur train crash

Dhaka [Bangladesh], Nov.21 (ANI): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her condolence over the loss of lives in the Indore-Patna Express mishap near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh that left more than 100 dead and many others injured.

Dhaka [Bangladesh], Nov.21 (ANI): Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her condolence over the loss of lives in the Indore-Patna Express mishap near Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh that left more than 100 dead and many others injured. "I am shocked and saddened at the tragic end of lives of so many people and injury to scores of others in the train accident," The Daily Star quoted Hasina as saying in a condolence message to her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. Press Secretary to Prime Minister Hasina Ehsanul Karim said Hasina also sought eternal peace of the departed souls and extended her heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families. Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia also expressed her condolence over the tragic incident. A staff of BNP Chairperson's media wing, Sayrul Kabir Khan, said she extended her sympathy to the bereaved families in a post on her twitter account. Seeking eternal peace of the departed souls, Zia said, "I am shocked at the incident. I am extending my profound sympathy to the Indian government, its people and family members of the victims." More than 100 people died and around 150 passengers injured when 14 coaches of the train derailed at around 3 a.m. today near Pukhrayan, about 100 kilometers from Kanpur. (ANI)
