Afghanistan and Turkmenistan inaugurate railway line

Kabul [Afghanistan], Nov. 28 (ANI): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and his Turkmenistan counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow officially inaugurated the Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) and Aqina (Afghanistan) Railway Line between the two countries on Monday.

Kabul [Afghanistan], Nov. 28 (ANI): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani and his Turkmenistan counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow officially inaugurated the Imamnazar (Turkmenistan) and Aqina (Afghanistan) Railway Line between the two countries on Monday. Thanking Turkmenistan for its support, President Ghani after the launch said gas and fuel will be transported to Afghanistan through this new railway line adding that the price of fuel and gas will drop. He also said that Amanullah Khan's dreams of Afghanistan being connected by railway had come true. Tolo News quoted Ghani, as saying that the next step after Aqena is the connection to Mazar and then to Herat. The Afghan President said that Kabul wants development not extremism and it does not have problems with any of its neighbors. Asserting that the new railway line had international value Turkmenistan's president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said Afghanistan has an important role to play in connecting Central Asia to South Asia. President Berdimuhamedow said new job opportunities would be created if Afghanistan develops economically. He said joint social and economic projects with Afghanistan will continue. The Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Medal of Honor was presented to President Berdimuhamedow by the President Ghani. (ANI)
