Lahore [Pakistan], August 5 (ANI): A seven member high level Afghan military delegation led by Lt Gen Muhammad Zaman Waziri, Commander 201 Corps,met with Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt in Peshawar on Friday. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to continue their fight against terrorism and deliberated over mutual security interests and concerns including the border security mechanism. The seven-member delegation discussed "areas of mutual security interests and concerns including border security mechanism," the Dawn quoted a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. Pakistan has already begun fencing the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in an effort to improve the security situation along the international boundary. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army, the Afghan delegation held meetings with Commander Peshawar Corps Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt.The meeting was also attended by Director Generals Military Operations of both the Armies and IGFC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. "Both sides concluded that peace and stability can best be achieved through complementary efforts and enhanced cooperation," according to ISPR. The Pakistan Army announced on Saturday that it had completed the first phase of Operation Khyber-IV in the Rajgal area of Khyber Agency after gaining control of a key mountain top called Brekh Top, Dawn news reported.(ANI)
