25 insurgents killed in airstrike in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province
Kabul [Afghanistan], Oct. 30 (ANI): Afghanistan's Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Sunday that at least 25 insurgents were killed in an airstrike carried out in eastern Nangarhar province. According to the MoD, the airstrike was carried out targeting a group of the Taliban insurgents in Sherzad district of Nangarhar, reports Khaama Press. However, there has been no comment on the reports by the Taliban militants so far. Earlier, the local officials in Nangarhar claimed that at least 13 loyalists of ISIS terrorist group were killed in an airstrike in Pacher Agam district. At least 27 ISIS loyalists have been killed during the latest counter-terrorism operations in this province, the ministry said. Regular raids are being conducted by Afghan forces and the US forces in Afghanistan against the Taliban insurgents and ISIS loyalist in the districts where they are conducting insurgency activities. Airstrikes have been increased by the US forces against the Taliban insurgents and ISIS loyalists after the Barack Obama administration earlier this year granted a broader role to the American forces.
