US NSA Susan Rice calls Ajit Doval, condemns Uri Attack
Washington D.C. [US], Sept. 29 (ANI): United States National Security Advisor (NSA) Susan E. Rice called on her Indian counterpart Ajit Doval and condemned the terror attack in Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Spokesperson of National Security Council Ned Price said that in a telephonic conversation with Doval, Susan Rice said that US expects Pakistan to take effective action to combat and de-legitimise United Nations-designated terrorist individuals and entities, including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and their affiliates. "Ambassador Rice strongly condemned the September 18 cross-border attack on the Indian Army Brigade headquarters in Uri and offered condolences to the victims and their families. Ambassador Rice affirmed President Obama's commitment to redouble our efforts to bring to justice the perpetrators of terrorism throughout the world," Price said. "Ambassador Rice discussed our shared commitment with India to pursue regional peace and stability and pledged to deepen collaboration on counter-terrorism matters including on UN terrorist designations," Price added. Eighteen Indian Army soldiers were killed and over 20 others were injured in an encounter with the terrorists at the Army Brigade headquarters in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. This is the highest casualty the army has suffered in a single attack in last two decades. All four terrorists involved in the attack were killed in what has emerged as worse than the attack on the Pathankot air base earlier in January this year, in which seven army men were killed. (ANI)
