Trump rushed off stage by Secret Service agents during rally
Reno [United States], Nov. 6 (ANI): United States presidential nominee Donald Trump was rushed off a stage on Saturday by Secret Service agents during a campaign speech, following an incident in the crowd near the stage where Trump was giving his address. A fray could be seen breaking out in the audience, but it was not immediately clear what had happened. A law enforcement official said that no weapon was discovered. The GOP nominee was apparently unharmed and returned to the stage minutes later to finish his speech, reports the CNN. The incident happened when Trump was in the middle of his stump speech. He then looked into the crowd, kept his hand over his eyes to block the glare from the stage lights, as Secret Service agents grabbed him and escorted him off the stage. As the Secret Service and police tactical units rushed in to detain a man, the crowd surged backward and some supporters were seen with a frightened looks on their faces. A throng of police officers, Secret Service agents and SWAT officers armed with assault rifles rushed the detained man to a side room. According to several attendees at the rally, they saw a Trump supporter raise up a sign and then a scuffle ensued. Trump said, "Nobody said it was going to be easy for us, but we will never be stopped. We will never be stopped. I want to thank the Secret Service. These guys are fantastic." In a statement issued by him following the incident, Trump said "I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response," he said. "I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us -- we will make America great again!" he added. (ANI)
