Trump names Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff
London [United Kingdom], Nov. 14 (ANI): Reince Priebus, who spent months trying to bring together anti-Trump Republican leaders to terms with their party's nominee, has been named by Donald Trump as his White House chief of staff. Steve Bannon was named by President-elect as the head of his campaign and as his "chief strategist and senior counsellor" for the far-right website Breitbart. The statement that announced Trump's decision said Bannon and Priebus would work as "equal partners". "Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders, who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory," the Guardian quoted Trump as saying. "Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again," he added. Mentioning his "very successful partnership" with Priebus, Bannon said that the Trump White House would "work to create an economy that works for everyone, secure our borders, repeal and replace Obamacare and destroy radical Islamic terrorism". Priebus served as Trump's diplomat to senior Republicans and donors throught his chaotic and divisive campaign and as manager of the party resources to elect candidates around the country. The White House chief of staff is the highest ranking employee of the White House, charged with helping the president on various issues. (ANI)
