Trump describes American Legion youth as 'next gen leaders'
New York [U.S.A.], July 27 (ANI): While addressing the American Legion youth at the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump described them as the "the next generation of American leaders" and praised his administration's "job numbers" for being the best "in 17 years." "As I look out at the audience, I see the next generation of American leaders," he told groups of American Legion Boys Nation and Auxiliary Girls Nation, who were gathered at the South Portico of the White House. He commended the American Legion for teaching young people the importance of patriotism and loyalty towards the country. "While you come from all corners of our great landscape," Trump said, "you are all united by your devotion, total devotion, to out great American flag, our freedom and the principles that bind us together as one people and one nation." In his address to the students, Trump called his election "a pretty amazing moment" in history. He said, "We're doing a good job, our country is doing so well now," adding, "enthusiasm for manufacturers and business is at just about the highest point since they started taking those tests." He also said that the students are helping to "make America greater than ever before." Both the American Legion Boys Nation and Auxiliary Girls Nation have been sending high school students on trips to Washington, D.C. to learn more about the federal government since the 1940s.(ANI)
