Obama responsible for Afghanistan invasion, alleges Trump's spokeswoman
New York, Aug.13 (ANI): Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson has claimed that President Barack Obama was responsible for the invasion of Afghanistan. She made the comment during an exchange with CNN's Victor Blackwell. When asked to explain Trump's recent assertion that the US President is the "founder of ISIS", Pierson put the blame on Obama and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's opposition to the surge in Iraq. Clinton was the senator from New York previously. "If you want to go way back, we can look at the troop surge, and after 2007 al Qaeda was essentially in ashes.. It was Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton who then destroyed the entire rollout by wanting to pull out early... That is the reason why ISIS is a global issue," CNN quoted Pierson as saying. The spokeswoman then talked about Afghanistan saying, "Remember, we weren't even in Afghanistan by this time. Barack Obama went into Afghanistan, creating another problem." She, however, later acknowledged the Afghanistan mission was not launched on Obama's watch. She later took to Twitter and clarified her remarks. Pierson blamed former president Bill Clinton for failing to confront Osama bin Laden. (ANI)
