Austin (United States)/ Hyderabad, July 20 (ANI): A 24-year-old techie from Hyderabad was stabbed to death by his roommate in Austin, Texas, in the United States, late on Monday night. The techie, identified as Sankeerth, hailed from Kacheguda in Hyderabad and was stabbed by his roommate, 27-year-old Sai Sandeep Goud Kurremula, who also hailed from Hyderabad. Police have detained Sandeep, who had checked into his room early this month, and are questioning him. Sankeerth's uncle, G. Sudhakar, expressed grief over the incident and said the mortal remains of the techie would be brought to Hyderabad for last rites. "It's been two and a half years that's he's in the States for his Masters in Science programme. He went on a H1B visa which he had received through a draw system earlier and was also doing a job. He was staying with a friend. After 15 days, a new student came named Sai Sandeep Goud. This student came through consultancy. All of them were staying peacefully until this incident happened," Sudhakar said. "The night this incident took place, his friend went to the other room to sleep and then heard a sound after which he saw the accused Sandeep Goud had stabbed Sankeerth and there was blood everywhere. Do not know the reason behind the attack. The body would be received by the relatives and will be brought here," he added. Sankeerth, who had gone to US two and a half years ago for studying Master of Science programme, had joined a job in Austin three months ago after comleting his course. According to reports, the third roommate Praneeth told media that a quarrel between Sankirth and Sandeep was the reason behind the latter's murder. Sankirth was stabbed in the abdomen, after which he was shifted to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. (ANI)
