From leaked tapes to jail threat-a feisty second US presidential debate

Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 10 (ANI): The tension between US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and her Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton was palpable from the start of their second debate which lasted for 90 minutes on Sunday evening. The two U.S. presidential nominees set the stage at the Washington University in St. Louis and made several personal attacks at each othjer in the light of Trump's leaked tapes. A shocking previously unaired footage from 2005 had surfaced in which Trump can be seen unabashedly bragging about trying to sleep with a married woman and being able to grope women as well. Trump, during the debate, said he was "embarrassed" by a video in which he made obscene comments about groping women without consent and dismissed it as "locker room talk." "I am very embarrassed by it, hate it, it is locker room talk," Trump replied when asked. Trump, who is facing a party rebellion over the video, alleged that former president Bill Clinton had done worse to women. "Mine were words, His (Bill Clinton) were action," he said. Hillary Clinton, however, said Trump's comments showed he was unfit for the White House. "He has said the video doesn't represent who he is but I think it is clear to anyone who heard it that it represents exactly who he is," Clinton said. The issues raised during the second presidential debate were-healthcare, the Syrian crisis, refugees and tax laws. The Republican candidate was asked to respond about his "proposed ban on Muslims into America" while his Democrat counterpart had a tough time dealing with questions on her deleted emails. Trump also vowed to put Clinton in jail if he wins next month, because she operated a private email server as US Secretary of State. Trump said he would appoint a special prosecutor to look into the matter because she had endangered national security while she served as President Barack Obama's chief diplomat from 2009-2013. Trump told the Democrat that she should be "ashamed of herself" for deleting 33,000 emails, reports the Independent. The third and the final debate will be on October 19. (ANI)
