All 29 injured in New York City explosion released from hospitals
New York [US], Sept. 18 (ANI): New York City Governor Andrew Cuomo on Sunday said that all 29 victims, who were injured in an explosion in the city's Chelsea neighbourhood, have been released from hospitals. Cuomo said that additional 1,000 New York State Police officers and National Guard troops will be deployed to patrol bus terminals, airports and subway stations, adding the deployment is "just to err on the side of caution." "I want New Yorkers to be confident when they go back to work on Monday that New York is up and running and we're doing everything that we need to do," CNN quoted Cuomo as saying. He added that there is no evidence of an international terrorism connection with this incident, but it is very early in the investigation. "It depends on your definition of terrorism. A bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism, but it's not linked to international terrorism," he said. He asserted that explosion on Saturday night in New York City's Chelsea neighbourhood caused "significant damage. The explosion occurred at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue and officials said that few blocks away, investigators found one possible clue: a pressure cooker, with dark-coloured wiring protruding, connected by silver duct tape to what appears to be a cellphone. Meanwhile, the Investigators are combing through surveillance video for clues. A senior law enforcement official however, said that so far they haven't found anything pointing to a suspect. (ANI)
