Visually impaired in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa protest for their rights

Peshawar [Pakistan], Mar.1 (ANI): A group of visually impaired people carried out a protest march from Peshawar Press Club to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to demand an increase their quota in jobs.

They also demanded health cards for the visually impaired people in the province.

The protesters, under the banner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Blind Association, raised anti-government slogans and accused K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of discrimination against them.

A protester said the government has failed to provide employment to visually impaired people despite having reserved quota of two percent in the government jobs. Now, they have been demanding that quota to be raised to three percent.

They further complained that visually impaired job-seekers had been completely ignored in the recent teacher's positions announced by the provincial government. (ANI)
